"Blessings for Great Success in your Holy Work”

Unique Rosh Hashanah Blessing with the Handwritten Signature of the Lubavitcher Rebbe
Brooklyn, Days of Selichos 1961
A letter of blessings for the new year, in which the Rebbe extends heartfelt wishes:

"As we approach the new year,
which is coming upon us and all of Israel for goodness and blessing,
I hereby extend my blessing to you and all that is yours,
a blessing for a Kesiva Vechasima Tova,
for a sweet new year, both materially and spiritually."

At the conclusion of the letter, the Rebbe added a remarkable blessing in his own handwriting:
"With blessings for great success in your holy work, may it be with joy and a good heart, M. Schneerson."
It is well known that in the Lubavitch dynasty, and particularly with the Rebbe, every word was carefully chosen, and every additional phrase carried great significance.

Upon searching the "Otzar HaChochma" database for this unique wording of the Rebbe’s blessing, we found only one letter containing such an exceptional phrase – this very letter!

The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson (1902-1994), was the seventh Rebbe in the dynasty of Lubavitcher Rebbes. Among the greatest Rebbes of the last generation, his influence spread throughout the entire world. He was extensively involved in bringing those far from Judaism closer and in mitzvah campaigns to merit the Jewish people.

The text of this letter was printed in ‘Yemei Temimim’, vol. 3 (Kfar Chabad, 2008), p. 77.
