Abuchatzira Dynasty: Marriage Certificate Signed by Rabbi Meir Abuchatzeira, the Baba Meir
Marriage Certificate written in Judeo-Arabic and signed by Rabbi Meir Abuchatzeira during his tenure as Rav of Erfoud, Morocco.
Rabbi Yehuda Simchon and Rabbi Masoud Mallul signed as witnesses and their signatures are followed by the handwritten signature of the Baba Meir.
Rabbi Meir Abuchatzeria (1917-1983), known as the Baba Meir, was a righteous miracle worker and tzaddik. He was the son of the renowned Baba Sali, born to him after ten years of childlessness. From the day he was born, his father consecrated him to a life of Torah, in purity and holiness.
At a young age he was ordained as a Rav, and in 1945 began serving as the Rav of Midelt in Morocco, and in 1953, he was appointed Rav of Erfoud. He immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1965 and passed away in Ashdod in 1983.
His son is the tzaddik Rabbi Elazar Abuchatzeira, zt”l.
